Join us for another book launch with the queen of cryptids: Annelise Ryan! She’ll be sharing Monster in the Moonlight, her latest release in her Wisconsin-based Monster Hunter Mysteries, following cryptologist Morgan Carter as she hunts down the Beast of Bray Road, a werewolf-like creature in Elkhorn, Wi.About the Book
Under the light of the full moon, a quiet rural lane becomes the scene of a shocking crime that may be the work of a mythical monster in the latest entry of this USA Today bestselling mystery series.
When a dead body turns up along a lonely country byway in rural Wisconsin, rumors of The Beast of Bray Road, a werewolf-like creature that is said to inhabit the area are reinvigorated. For years locals have reported sightings of the terrifying creature, but this would be its first verified attack.
Marks on the dead woman’s body indicate a mauling by some kind of large animal. The wounds plus deep scratches on the victim’s car convince the community that the legendary beast is not only real but responsible for this brutal killing.
If the police have any hope of solving this crime, they’re going to need an expert—enter cryptozoologist Morgan Carter. She’s investigated sightings of eerie creatures throughout the upper Midwest. If anyone is going to track down the killer, it’s Morgan, but she may find that the Beast is not the worst thing lurking on Bray Road.
About the Author
Annelise Ryan is a pseudonym for the Wisconsin-based, USA Today bestselling author of the new Monster Hunter Mystery series featuring cryptozoologist Morgan Carter and her trusty canine sidekick, Newt as they hunt for cryptids like the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, the Hodag, and the Beast of Bray Road.
Annelise also penned the rib-tickling12- book Mattie Winston Mystery series featuring the adventures of a wryly cynical nurse-turned-coroner in a small Wisconsin town and the spin-off Helping Hands Mysteries.
As Allyson K. Abbott, she authored a 6-book series known as the Mack’s Bar Mysteries (a bit of cheeky fun there with the initials on that nom de plume!)
And as Beth Amos, she has written more than 200 published articles, worked as a book reviewer for Barnes & Noble, and written five thrillers, three of which were published by HarperCollins in the late ’90s. She is an active member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and International Thriller Writers. She is a registered nurse whose past work experience has included everything from birth (obstetrics) to death (hospice). Now retired, she spent her last 20 years working in the ER.
