Book Decorating and Blackout Poetry with Charlie and Cecelia
About this Event
What is Blackout Poetry?
Blackout poetry is a form of found poetry where the artist takes a page of text and removes words from it, creating a new text or poem through its destruction. It can be done with any text: children’s books, paperbacks, magazines, and newspapers are a good starting point. This is often done in the analog world, on paper with dark black ink.
Bring a copy of your favorite book, an old book, or a magazine to decorate & create blackout poetry!
Old books/magazines will be provided if needed, along with art supplies.
