Book Club! The Joy of Movement by Kelly McGonigal, PhD
Thu Jul 22 2021 at 07:00 pm to 08:30 pm
Shuniya Yoga Collective LLC | Austin, TX
If you're looking for motivation to get out and exercise, this book will give you the scientific reasons why its good for you and you body was designed for it! McGonigal discusses the evolutionary reasons behind the "runner's high," how exercise can give you a hit like drugs (but with a whole lot more positive side effects), and how music can improve performance as much or more than steroids or PEDs.
Josh Hale, a reading enthusiast and daily meditator, will facilitate an open discussion around the book’s core topics and takeaways.
This is a FREE event and open for all, but please RSVP to reserve your spot and ensure space for all.
We look forward to bringing together a diverse community of curious minds to review books on the topics of mindfulness and yogic practices in a fun and welcoming group discussion. We meet quarterly, so that each participant has time to read and enjoy the book at their leisure prior to meeting.
If you feel called to support the studio, we are selling copies of this book at a slight mark-up to cover our costs in hosting this club. Purchase your copy from our website (we can ship directly to your home or you can pick-up at the studio)!
