*Book Club*
Folksy songwriter Robbie Horlick leads the indie-folk group Book Club, based in Atlanta. There’s a wistful, unpretentious elegance to Book Club’s sound. Blending influences like Dylan, Petty, Reed, Berman, and Molina, with an Americana/Indie spin, Horlick's songs and voice harken to a time of classic folk songs, but keep an eye on the future. They tell honest tales of life, love, heartache, and hope. At once urbane and downhome, Book Club's music is both a modern pastoral pop music that—in sound and spirit—can trace a straight line back to the simple, unaffected roots of American story-song, and a fresh take on the cosmic corners of current indie music inhabited by Woods, Vetiver, and Purple Mountains.
*Jake Klar*
Jake Klar is an artist based in Heath, MA. His songs showcase an ongoing collection of life’s lyric moments, both the eccentric and the daily. Klar rides on the Americana tradition of storytelling in his work, while bringing in the edge of modern folk/rock-inspired arrangements. Whether Jake is playing solo or with his band - you will leave his shows with his crooning voice and the poetry of his lyrics ringing through your head.
Klar is a veteran of Northeast Festivals such as Otis Mountain Get Down, FreshGrass and The Back Porch Festival. His latest release, Driving Home Through The Country, is a follow-up to his acclaimed 2021 & 2020 collection of songs, Witness, and Masquerade.
*Georgia Sackler*
Georgia Sackler is an Atlanta-based songwriter, singer, and instrumentalist. The sounds of her debut EP, Where Once Grew Green, evoke the nostalgia of folk while imbuing the time-honored tradition with a contemporary voice. Her songs are odes to memory, to nature, to death and decay, to birth and renewal. Though undeniably melancholic, the narrative Georgia crafts is woven with a thread of hope; where once grew green will inevitably grow green again. Georgia is currently working towards her next release, and in the meantime, making new musical connections around the city.
