About this Event
The USGBC Northern California Women in Green Committee invites you to join us on August 5th for networking and an in-depth discussion of the celebrated book by Jessica Bantom:
What to expect:
Read or listen at your leisure and come ready to discuss the book over drinks and appetizers! (We encourage you to come even if you have only had time to read part of the book or skim it…you will meet other inspiring women and allies, so please join us!). We welcome everyone (no matter how you identify) to this event.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Design is an expression, a service, an act of creativity. But if designers design for everyone, how can there be so little diversity in the profession? In this book, Jessica Bantom examines the implications of design in everyday life, from spaces and products to images and the fashion industry.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Jessica Bantom is a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) practitioner and interior design consultant who believes we can all start doing something right now that can create positive outcomes for people who have been historically excluded. She is a leadership coach and consultant committed to helping aspiring allies take actions that create meaningful outcomes for historically excluded people.
Thank you Bar Part Time for providing the event venue!
"San Francisco is full of natural wine bars, but it's rare to find one where you can also dance. Bar Part Time in the Mission district is the exception. With its lively atmosphere, checkered floors, DJ spinning records, and disco ball, it's the perfect place to party. Despite its trendy vibe, it's easy to have a great time here. The cozy booths make it ideal for a Thursday night with friends or a third date. Grab a bottle from their fridge, hit the dance floor, and enjoy the fun."
