For aspiring and experienced bookbinders alike, join us in our brand new Book-Binding Tools workshop with paper artist Isabell Buenz and learn to make your own punching or sewing cradleThis two-part workshop is running on Tuesday 25th April and Tuesday 2nd May, 6:30-9:00pm. When booking please make sure you are able to attend both days.
Essential to achieve those professional finishing touches to a hand-bound book, this two-part workshop will teach you how to construct a re-useable, collapsible and light punching or sewing cradle, all from packaging materials that you can find in most households. Not only that, you’ll also be shown how to make your own book cloth which will make up part of the cradle.
This fun two-part workshop is for anyone who loves to get creative and learn new usable skills, whilst making use of upcycled and second-hand materials for a truly sustainable crafting experience.
This workshop makes a perfect lead-up session to attend in preparation for our next series of 4-Week Book-Binding workshops which will be running at the Remakery throughout May (dates TBC). In this series we’ll be looking at Coptic, Belgian, Buttonhole and Ribbon Bindings.
