Join Instructor Helen Shafer Garcia to explore traditional and contemporary directions in Book Arts as you work with book construction, printmaking and mixed media techniques. Learn construction and techniques on paper portflios, open spine Coptic stitch with woven bindings (which are a beautiful addition to the open spine of a handmade book) and an accordion mixed media book in a box structure which includes combining acrylic and watercolor painting techniques. During this six-week class, you'll work on 3 projects concentrating on concept and technique. Monotype imagery will be produced in our Printmaking Lab for the paper portfolio book.
