Join us as we celebrate The Front Porch’s 10-year anniversary and unveil exciting new programs to give back to the community that has supported us for a decade. The evening will feature a casino room, silent auction, raffle, photo booth by Parlor the Studio, wine tastings, and more—all to raise funds for our community programs.Your ticket includes unlimited wine, beer, and cider from local purveyors, along with Louisiana-inspired cuisine and sweet treats from beloved local restaurants. The evening begins with a cocktail hour featuring passed hors d’oeuvres and live music by the celebrated local group Jelly Street Jazz. Dinner will follow, accompanied by a performance from two-time Grammy winners Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience.
For 40+ years, 8th-generation Louisiana Creole Terrance Simien has been shattering the myths about what traditional Zydeco roots music is – and is not. Simien has become one of the most respected and accomplished artists in American roots music today. He and his bandmates have won two Grammy awards, been included in major studio theatre release films, and have been cultural ambassadors for the U.S. State Department. Driven by African and Caribbean rhythms, the Zydeco Experience has evolved over the decades, incorporating popular genres while remaining rooted in the call-and-response jure´ songs of 19th century Creole Louisiana communities. We’re very excited to have them at Boogie on the Bayou.
