We need books! So you can keep taking them for free! So we're opening the donation window on non-giveaway days, for a few hours, when we can. The hours will vary!So declutter your shelves and bring books to us! Full info at bookthing.org
The donation limit is 7 boxes per family for now. (We have to count every book!) Boxes must be small enough that one person can lift them when full.
We accept all types of books except encyclopedia sets. NO GENRE RESTRICTIONS!
We accept all types of popular and hobby magazines. (We can’t accept sets of academic, technical, or professional journals though.)
Due to space limitations, we are not accepting media items at this time (for example: CDs, DVDs, VHS, LPs, audiobooks, etc.).
If you need a tax receipt for your donation, please mention that right up front. We’ll need to count your books separately. Thanks in advance for your patience!
Unfortunately, we can’t go offsite to pick up book donations. But we can help carry them from your car.
If the scheduled donation days are truly impossible for you, please Contact us on the website. We do have a limited number of individual donation appointments available on other dates, and we will try to accommodate you if we can.
We can only accept book donations as outlined above. If you leave books outside of donation hours, you may be cited by the City for illegal dumping. Thank you for your understanding
