The Durga Puja of Calcutta has been declared an Intangible World Heritage by UNESCO. This walk gives a history of the household Durga Puja celebrations in eleven houses of Calcutta. Each of them has a history going back to the 1700s or 1800s, when Calcutta was under East India Company or British rule. This tour gives you an insight into the generally unexplored wealthy Bengali class during British colonial rule.
