Bon Dance Japanese Culture Festival 2026 盆踊り

The 28th Annual Bon Dance Festival will be August 22, 2026 in Greenville SC! This event is hosted by volunteers from the Japan-America Association of South Carolina, its member companies, and the Japan Affairs committee. Everything comes together with the help of many individuals, local organizations, local businesses, and community volunteers. #obonsc #jaasc
Bon Dance Festival 2026
Saturday, August 22nd, 12:00pm-4:30pm (Events start from 12:30)
- FREE Admission and demonstrations
- Buy tickets for bento boxes, snacks, games, and prizes
- Japanese crafts for sale from Wa no Sato, Kimono for sale
- Doors will open early at 12:00 PM for ticket sales
- Enjoy our festival in comfortable air conditioning and protection from the weather.
Featured performances and demonstrations will be finalized at a later date but could include:
- Taiko Drumming with Ronin Taiko / Taiko Academy
- Kyudo Archery with South Carolina Kyudo Renmei
- Kendo with Greenville Kendo Club
- Karate with Kazoku Karate
- Okinawan Sanshin band Gachimaya
- Ikebana flower arranging from WNC
- Japanese tea ceremony from WNC
- Dancing with Hana Akari
- Bon Dances (3 types) with the Midori-no-kai
Games and activities for all including Omikuji, Lottery, Calligraphy, yoyo fishing, and Yukata dressing!
