B.O.M.B. (Best Of Mesquite Beach)CAUTION! This format is ready to explode. Register with the same gender and play with other pairs for this 4-on-4 round robin tournament with 4 formats, all in one evening: men's 4's and women's 4's, regular coed 4's and reverse coed 4's.
Round 1 - Same Gender 4's
Each pair draws a number, which determines their schedule. Round 1, each pair is assigned a pool with 3 other pairs of the same gender. The pairs will play with and against every pair in their pool, for a total of 3 games to 15, cap at 15.
Round 2 - Regular 4's
Net height is 7'11" by the antennas (give or take 1/4 inch-middle may be up to 1" shorter.) Each pair is assigned 2 games with different pairs against different opponents. Players may play any position on the court but need to rotate serve and should know that there are restrictions in Round 3. Games are one set to 15, cap at 15.
Round 3 - Reverse 4's
Net height is 7'4" by the antennas (give or take 1/4 inch-middle may be up to 1" shorter.) Each pair is assigned 2 games with different pairs against different opponents. Only the females may overhead attack and block, male players can not overhead attack and block. A male player may tomahawk the serve over on one as long as they are beyond the 10 foot line. Players can not attack the serve inside the 10 foot line, which means the setter can not go over on one. Male players can not overhead attack the 2nd or 3rd ball, even beyond the 10 foot line. Male setters may poke an overpass as long as the ball passes the 10 foot line on the other side. That is, no short poke attacks kills from male players. There will be a 10 line marked on the end lines for reference. Games are one set to 15, cap at 15.
Standings: Pairs will be seeded based on Rounds 1, 2 and 3 wins and losses, then point differential. Every pair advances to the playoffs and ALL pairs are assigned 2 more games to 15, cap at 15…that’s 9 total games for the evening.
Round 4 - Playoffs
Based on the standings, the top men's pair will form a team with the top women's pair. The #2 men's pair will form a team with the #2 women's pair...#3 men's with #3 women's, etc. The top seed will decide if they play regular OR reverse for the first game of the playoff. The semifinals will be the opposite format. Seeds 1/4/5/8 play the same format the first round of the playoffs and semifinals. Seeds 2/3/6/7 play the opposite format. After the first game of the playoffs, the winning teams advance to the A Semifinals and the losing teams advance to the B Semifinals. Games are one set to 15, win by 2, no cap.
Finals
The final will be one game to 28, win by 2, no cap BUT the higher seed will decide if the first 14 points will be the regular OR reverse format. Once the first team reaches 14 points, the game switches to the other format.

1st Place Team $320* ($80/player)
B Division
1st Place Team $160* ($40/player)

Leaderboard
Each player will earn points and the top players of the leaderboard will be eligible to play the Legacy 4X4 A-Division Championship (depending on the number eligible players.) All remaining players will play the Legacy 4X4 B-Division Championship.
