About Dhwani
Dhwani’s dance journey began the moment she entered the world—and maybe even before. With a family lineage steeped in Garba, she was destined to dance. She started training in hip-hop, Bollywood, and Indian folk dances at a young age, and her passion for movement only grew from there.
Her evolution from performer to instructor came quickly. Dhwani taught at Nupur Dance Academy in India for four years, guiding students of all ages through lessons in technique and performance. She also choreographed the academy’s bi-annual stage shows. Her expertise extended to choreographing five Sangeet functions within her community, where she handled everything from storyline creation to tailoring choreography for different age groups and executing the performances on the big day.
While completing her undergraduate studies in India, Dhwani co-led the dance team Team Gyrations, where she had the opportunity to work with top choreographers like Tushar Shetty and Aakash Tambedkar. The team competed in 25-30 inter-college dance competitions each year, winning 20-25 of them. Their performances spanned various styles, including hip-hop, house, kuthu, Bollywood, contemporary, and even stunts.
After a six-year break, Dhwani has reignited her love for dance. She’s attended several workshops, impressively mastering routines in just one hour. She’s also begun learning Kathak, further diversifying her already broad dance repertoire.
With a solid background in dance and the belief that "dancing is like swimming—you never forget," Dhwani is eager to contribute to Rangeela. She looks forward to conducting workshops, expanding the business to different U.S. cities, and performing at major events across the country. Despite her break, she’s excited to dive back into her passion—because the rhythm, after all, never truly leaves you.
