What is Gouache?
Originating in France centuries ago, this paint earned a reputation for being perfect for poster design. It was frequently used to create preliminary sketches for print designs, including repeat patterns for textiles.
Gouache is a water-based paint that offers rich pigmentation and a matte finish. Unlike traditional watercolors, gouache is opaque, allowing artists to paint in layers and achieve bold, vivid colors. It can be reactivated with water even after drying, making it a forgiving medium for both detailed illustrations and expansive, expressive artworks.
Beginners welcome and encouraged to join this class is for all levels of artists!
All supplies are provided for this class.
