Bold Acrylic Art - Paint like Jean-Michel Basquiat at Asher Adams

This month, we're highlighting the influential contemporary artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in partnership with Workshop SLC.

Basquiat's paintings combine expressive mark-making, handwritten words, symbols, and layered imagery to explore identity, culture, and the human experience. Rather than striving for perfection, Basquiat embraced spontaneity and experimentation, proving that art can be messy, powerful, and deeply personal.

In this class, you'll create your own Basquiat-inspired artwork using acrylic markers on canvas. We'll build dynamic layers of bold lines, words, patterns, and color while learning to embrace creative freedom. No artistic experience is necessary. Just a willingness to make weird art and discover what happens when you trust your instincts.
