You are warmly invited to make the most of this rare opportunity to hear Baroque transverse flute (traverso) specialist Marion Treupel-Franck, visiting Australia for the first time from Munich, Germany. Marion will be joined by local traverso specialist Greg Dikmans and two traverso students, with the rich bass tones of Lyndon Watts on Baroque bassoon supporting the ensemble.

Joseph Bodin de Boismortier (1689-1755), who passed away exactly 270 years ago, was a highly prolific French composer of the Baroque era. He published over one hundred collections of instrumental and vocal works, many of which were groundbreaking for their time, as they required no patronage to reach the public. Boismortier was especially significant in the history of flute music. He composed numerous sonatas, concerti, and suites that enriched the instrument's repertoire and showcased its expressive potential. His music, often praised for its elegance and accessibility, remains a cornerstone of Baroque flute performance today.
