What happens when voices rise together? A tide begins to build.In US: A Rising Tide, Boise Women’s Chorus invites you on a musical journey shaped by water, wind, and the power of connection. Inspired by the idea that a rising tide lifts all boats, this program explores how our voices—like currents and air—move through the world, carrying stories of resilience, hope, and shared humanity.
This concert serves as a companion to the chorus’s fall program, HER: Singing Our Power, which explored the elemental forces of earth and fire. Where that program grounded us in strength and spark, US: A Rising Tide turns toward the flowing and expansive elements of water and air. Through music that reflects the motion of rivers, the openness of the sky, and the quiet strength of compassion, the program weaves together themes of truth, belonging, and collective courage. Some moments soar with the freedom of flight; others flow with the steady pull of water or the calm that follows a storm. Throughout the evening, voices intertwine to remind us that even in uncertain times, connection is what sustains and lifts us.
This performance also celebrates the power of artistic collaboration. Select pieces feature special partnerships with Open Arms Dance Project, Boise High Orchestra, and North Junior High Orchestra, bringing together singers, dancers, and student musicians in a shared expression of community and creativity.
