Bohannons

From the wilds of Chattanooga spring Bohannons, one of that town’s finest rock bands of the past 20 years, a crackling, snarling beast of an outfit that lands somewhere between Ronnie Wood, Neil Young and a homemade flamethrower. Marty Bohannon’s piercing vocals ride on waves of brother Matt Bohannon’s ringing and whining guitars, driven by the whirling rush of drummer Mike Gaut and bassist Billy C. Robinson’s rhythms. - Stephen Trageser, Nashville Scene

In 2006 the Bohannons would set out on their first American tour retracing their steps year after year and setting off in new directions all the while. What would start as archaic recording processes would eventually bring them to some of the most well-known studios in the country, from Electrical Audio in Chicago to Chase Park Transduction in Athens, GA and on to Dialback Sound in Water Valley, Ms.
Every album from 2010's Days of Echo to 2015's Luminary Angels is an invitation to listen and look into both the blessings and burdens of the working class south. The framework of the titles dare to encompass the best of rock, blues, country, power pop, punk and metal.

Yes Trespassing

Hailing from the legendary Muscle Shoals, AL, this four-piece rock outfit is adding new flavors to the Muscle Shoals sound and blowing minds across the Southeast. Trey Nichols (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Jonathan Mackey (Bass, Vocals), Dylan Johnson (Drums), and Emmett Redding (Guitar, Vocals), make up Yes Trespassing. The band formed in the midst of a pandemic and began arming themselves with material to share and tour with once things opened back up. Yes Trespassing is wasting no time making an impact in their region.

Though they are just beginning to release content, the band has already begun playing shows in various states and cities, where crowds experience what one fan called a “wall of sound.”

Yes Trespassing's sound is heavily influenced by the 90's and 2000's rock movements, from alternative to grunge to even some heavier metal bands. Their songs emphasize the intertwining of instantly memorable melodies with thought-provoking lyrics that listeners easily relate to, while also providing a driving rhythm that demands head banging.

Terry Ohms

If you’re unfamiliar with this artist, who flies just under the radar of whoever or whatever algorithm it is that makes an artist widely known these days, know that you never know what your gonna get from album to album or song to song with Terry Ohms. Though, at the same time, he’s not “all over the place”, either. There runs a thread of familiar originality throughout his catalogue that somehow ties it all together as a sonically consistent and insistent omnibus that stretches back twenty years. So far.
Smooth Sailing Forever is Terry Ohms’ eighth release. Oh and by the way, in case you don’t already know, Terry Ohms is the alter ego of Wes McDonald, who was the principle songwriter and singer/guitarists for Vulture Whale and The Ohms, and is currently the drummer for dream-psych-rock outfit, People Years. But, you can call him Terry if you want.
With the third full length album in two years, McDonald looks to be plowing full steam ahead with this Terry Ohms guy. He’s been making records under one moniker or another since the year 2000. McDonald has a sharp tongue and a keen and playful musical sensibility that informs his music with soulful power and a multiple personality. And as Terry Ohms, who is stretched out, settled in and here to stay for awhile, Smooth Sailing Forever captures a thoughtful yet soulful shotgun reaction to an unfamiliar and ominous cloud hanging overhead. McDonald engineered, produced and played all the instruments on Smooth Sailing Forever at Terry’s House in Birmingham, AL. He also designed all the artwork and drank all the Zevia.
