BOH 2022 Prebooked Building: Cross River Rail Project

In celebration of Brisbane Open House 2022, Cross River Rail has created an opportunity for 10 lucky members of the public to put on a hard hat and participate in a Behind the Hoardings Tour of our Roma Street construction site.

This Behind the Hoardings Tour experience will see members of the public get up-close and personal with the project to understand the scale of works being completed. As well as gain an understanding of the science behind tunnelling through machinery, innovation and problem-solving.

This exciting experience will provide access to our Roma Street site. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the construction process with our project team.

The Behind the Hoardings Tour will be on Saturday 27 August 2022.

What do the attendees need to know, bring?

To be eligible to register for the tour, you must:

Must be 16 years or over. Entrants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian read and accept these Terms and Conditions on their behalf.

Entrants must abide by CRRDA’s Visitor Safety Requirements:

All attendees must wear a long sleeve shirt and pants and have closed in shoes on the day of the event

All attendees are under a no drug and alcohol policy to enter any site

All attendees must be physically fit enough to:

Walk unassisted up and down 10 flights of stairs in full PPE (including masks – this will require everyone to be clean shaven)

Self-manage in potentially hot and humid conditions in full PPE

Stand unassisted underground

Walk on uneven underground terrain

Self-evacuate in case of emergency

Self-assess and self-manage in the event of a psychological (e.g. claustrophobic) response to the cavern environment.

CRRDA reserves the right to invalidate any entry that is considered to be in breach of the Terms and Conditions.

The person registered for the site tour will be responsible for traveling from their home to the Experience Centre, where the tour will start.

Participants must be prepared to walk from the Experience Centre to our Roma Street site.
