Guided by our experienced facilitators Dr. Johanna Claus and Vanessa Mateja, this retreat will immerse you in practices such as walking, sitting, eco-somatics, and authentic movement. Together, we will explore pathways to deep listening, stillness, and presence, attuning to the reciprocal relationship between your inner and outer landscapes.
As Spring—a time of renewal and growth—arrives, we invite you to explore embodied methodologies and mindfulness practices in diverse ecological environments including forests, beaches, streams, and mountains. You will participate in sessions focused on embodied inquiry, silence, authentic movement, and artistic expression. Additional experiences include somatic sauna sessions and ice baths with integrated breathwork, designed to deepen your connection with your body and its rhythms.

Your Facilitators
Vanessa Mateja: I have been dancing most of my life and am passionate about facilitating workshops and retreats in somatic movement, seasonal rituals, women's circles, and sweat lodge ceremonies. Drawing from my background in classical ballet, contemporary dance, fine arts, and herbal medicine, I explore the interconnectivity between the body and ecology, with a fascination for seasonal cycles, biology, creative expression, and movement improvisation.
Dr. Johanna Claus: As a dance researcher and performance artist, my work focuses on the self-regulating processes within the body and exploring the poetics of dance in various contexts. With extensive teaching and performance experience, I am interested in the relationship between self, community, and ecology. I’m currently publishing work based on my PhD about seasonal rituals in times of change while continuing to teach, choreograph, and perform.
