Body and Earth is an immersive exhibition by award-winning artist and photographer Antonia Peña exploring the intrinsic connection between humans and the Earth. Through photography video and performance Peña highlights our symbiosis with nature and addresses contemporary issues such as climate change and our responsibility towards the environment.
Peña’s work delves into human vulnerabilities and resilience focusing on women’s experiences. She views the human body as an expression of freedom symbolising the beauty of the spirit and our natural need to be free. Known for her bold self-portraiture Peña’s career began with her project Leave Me Alone (2004) and her first Playboy cover at the age of 26.
Join us for the opening night at Instituto Cervantes Manchester featuring a guided tour by the artist and a glass of Spanish wine.
The exhibition is free to enter and will be open from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 21:00 and on Fridays from 10:00 to 14:30.
