Deze show – net als de concerten van Colt, Ronker, ONHA, Ghostwoman en Johannes Is Zijn Naam - vindt plaats in het kader van De Week Van De Belgische Muziek.
Geïnspireerd door artiesten als Otis Sandsjö (Y-OTIS), International Anthem-act SML (Small Medium Large), ØKSE, het Ijslandse kwartet ADHD, Björk en Alabaster DePlume maakte bodies - kleine letters graag (!) - meteen indruk op ons. Ook Lefto ging voor de bijl en plaatste hen op zijn compilatie-reeks Jazz Cats (letterlijk) tussen goed volk als Adja en Orson Claeys. Ook de eminente Londense saxofoniste Nubya Garcia liet bodies in AB voor haar openen en zag vanuit de coulissen dat het goed was.
Na een tweetal EP’s én een handvol AB-concerten is het tijd voor het indrukwekkende debuut – kleine letters graag (!) - quiero amor (via het Brusselse label Igloo Records). De eerste single un violador en tu camino – die bewust op 25 november verschijnt wegens International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - zet meteen de toon: “rough saxophone melodies trigger distorted samples of protestors’ voices, layering street ambiences with synths, saxophone and effects, resulting in an amplification of their demands through a raw track that transforms rage into collective power.” Het moge duidelijk zijn: de muziek van bodies is vooral niet vrijblijvend. #godzijdank
Naast saxofoniste alejandra borzyk (zie ook: Sound Of Brussels Orchestra met o.a. Kaito Winse en Vitja Pauwels), maakt ook pianist Camille-Alban Spreng (zie ook: Mobilhome), drummer Elie Gouleme (zie o.a. STACE) en bassist Mateusz Malcharek (zie o.a. Marvie) deel uit van de band.
