Bobo Stenson Trio

Bobo Stenson is one of the defining voices of European jazz. The Swedish pianist helped shape the foundations of Scandinavian jazz in the 1970s, most notably on the landmark album Witchi-Tai-To by the Jan Garbarek Bobo Stenson Quartet, released in 1974. Since then, he has developed a musical language of his own that bridges Scandinavian and American influences.
With bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Fält, Stenson has long formed a trio renowned for its telepathic interplay and the careful construction of its improvisations. Their most recent ECM album, Sphere, is compelling evidence of that. Jazzenzo wrote: ‘What makes the Bobo Stenson Trio exceptional is the telepathic collaboration between the musicians and the careful development of the improvisations.’
