Boats Bring Bonds – Walkshop II

Ever wondered what stories a river holds? What if you were a bird perched by the Brent, watching its waters weave through time?

Join us for an immersive riverside writing workshop where we will uncover the hidden layers of Brent's waterways. Using site-writing techniques, we will draw on historical research from Brent's Archive at Willesden Library, as well as theories of psychogeography to explore the world(s) of the human and the more-than-human that co-exist along the river.

We care deeply about making our workshops accessible. If you are unable to attend due to accessibility requirements, let us know and we can make the workshop materials, video and images available for you to do wherever you are.

This walkshop is hosted by a group of master’s students from University College London (UCL) as part of an ongoing exhibition project. The project explores compassion and co-production on river transport, examining how waterways shape connections between people and places.

Our team will document the walkshop through photography and videography, and both these materials, along with participants’ creative writing, may be featured in our upcoming exhibition at the end of March. If you are uncomfortable with being photographed or appearing in video documentation, do let us know.

We hope to include your creative contributions as part of our exhibition. If you would like us to include your piece of creative writing, sonic art, or reflection, please let us know.

• From Hanwell Broadway, it’s an 8-minute walk to Station Approach
