VIP
The VIP (Violence Intervention & Prevention) Team started in Haverhill Highschool as a youth group, responding to the students' need of a support group. Our roots have always been in peace and nonviolence; encouraging our youth to give back to the community and leaving a positive impact wherever they go. Nowadays we branch out to many different subjects of our youth's lives, promoting education and awareness on drugs, relationships, mental health, and diversity. In the high school and middle schools, we support student voice and individual success. In the community, joining forces with UTEC, we organize Walks for Peace and Police-Youth Dialogues. We always extend a hand to any youth interested or in need of some positive engagement and opportunities
NAACP
The Merrimack Valley NAACP Youth Council is a brand new organization for the region. Accepting members from generally middle to high school range, we are proud to found a new platform built on the NAACP's foundation for connecting with our communities. Featuring members from all across the area, we aim for the equity of all people through policy and leadership. Our activism highlights the often disadvantaged BIPOC community but is not exclusive to BIPOC youth. The Youth Council just did its first event as a team, running an Instagram Live Q&A event with State Representatives, a City Councilor, and a woman running for City Council in Haverhill. We look forward to offering more opportunities of civil engagement and education.
Model UN
Model UN is a club where children can envision real world solutions to real world problems, participate as work leaders, and gain a wider perspective of the world. It expands your mind AND your confidence through allowing you to think beyond the walls of your classroom.
