The Bug (In Dub)
Following a cast of special guests on the front stage, UK bass/noise daddy The Bug further increases the pressure in the back room into the small hours with an extended ‘In Dub’ DJ set, using his recent 'Machine' EP series as the jump-off for a heavy 3 hour session of instrumentals, versions and unreleased cuts as powered by a hefty dub rig. The Bug project ramps the physicality and intensity of Jamaican soundsystem music to its limits, and has resulted in a triptych of essential LPs: 2008’s ‘London Zoo’, 2014’s ‘Angels & Devils’ and 2021’s ‘Fire’. Bug shows pummel the senses as much as the architecture of the room. A pivotal figure since the 90s, Kevin’s other important projects include Techno-Animal, God, King Midas Sound, Zonal and recent film scores and multichannel performances under his own name.
One Leg One Eye
One Leg One Eye is The project of Ian Lynch (founding member of Irish group Lankum) that explores submerged leylines of music and song, drawing on the raw aesthetics of black metal, noise and drone, while also being deeply embued with a sense of history and myth. His debut album …And Take The Black Worm With Me (released on Nyahh Records in 2022) is a slow burning suite of five expansive songscapes that has found its audience largely by word of mouth. Partly recorded in an abandoned Dublin factory where his father worked when he was a child, Lynch’s harrowing vocals are underpinned by vast pillars of uileann pipe drones, overlaid with effects and field recordings to conjure up a sound that is at once dark, mysterious and ultimately transcendental.
bela
Originally from Paju South Korea, bela (they/them) is a musician and a performance artist based in Berlin. They are known for electronic music performance merging pungmul - a Korean folk act rooted in agricultural traditions and linked to past social movements - and vocals inspired by extreme metal. bela shapes pungmul into the ritual for queer rage and grief with sub-heavy distortions and cries.
