BMX sessions for home educated children of all ages. No experience necessary! These sessions will run most weeks on a Friday all year round.
Due to popular demand there will no be two sessions on a Friday, catering to more riders and supporting a wider range of experience, age and ability.
Session 1 will run 10:15-11:45 and is suitable for anyone who can ride a bike.
Session 2 will run 13:15-14:45. Riders in this session should have relevant experience and meet the following criteria:
- be confident to complete a lap of the track unaided, standing up on the pedals and with other riders present.
- be confident in using the start gate, including performing gate starts with other riders
- feel confident to take part in race simulation activities
- be ready to listen and follow instructions

BMX racing coaching and activities specifically provided for children who are home educated.
These sessions are intended to provide a fun and physical activity where riders will learn about the Olympic sport of BMX racing. As well as providing physical education these sessions might allow participants to apply learnings from other subjects such as numeracy, biology and engineering. If you have particular learning or development goals please let me know! There is also the opportunity to progress from these sessions to riding competitively at local, regional, national and even international level.
All equipment, including bikes, is provided but riders are free to bring their own if they prefer.
Suitable clothing:
Long sleeved top made of durable fabric, such as a hoody.
Full length trousers made of durable fabric, such as jeans.
Flat soled trainers or shoes. Crocs or similar are not suitable.
Session fees are £7 per session which can be paid in cash or by contactless payment on arrival. Discounts will be provided to family members as follows:
2nd family member £5
3rd and any additional family members £3
Parents and carers are welcome to participate too under the additional family member rate, provided that there is capacity in the session.
A responsible adult must remain on-site for each child for the duration of the session.
