BlueTech Tour & Happy Hour for Start Up Week

Celebrate Start Up Week on the Boardman/Ottaway River with a guided FishPass walking tour and happy hour! FishPass is a first-of-its-kind project that will change the way invasive species are managed worldwide, by integrating infrastructure with technology in order to restore a native fishery. Following the tour, join fellow river-lovers, and leadership from the Freshwater Research and Innovation Center, at Rare Bird Brewery for a happy hour and a toast to BlueTech on the Great Lakes!

Tour: Please plan to meet at the Bryan Crough Memorial in Lay Park (301 S. Union Street) at 3:00 PM. Street/metered parking is available along Union and Lake Streets, or the Old Town Parking Deck is nearby. We will begin with a brief project overview, followed by a walking tour around the perimeter of the construction site. Most of the tour will be on pavement, but there are some stairs and gravel walkways. Please wear comfortable shoes, and dress for the weather.

Happy Hour: Following the tour (approx. 4 PM), participants are invited to join fellow river restoration enthusiasts and Start Up Week attendees for Happy Hour at Rare Bird Brewpub (229 Lake Avenue), sponsored by FishPass and the Great Lakes Fishery Commission. Leadership from the Freshwater Research and Innovation Center will be available to chat about this exciting development, and opportunities for freshwater entrepreneurs and startups.
