Blues, Swing & Romantic Ballads with Larry Vuckovich & Alvon Johnson

Pianist Larry Vuckovich has an impressive history working with some of the greatest jazz and blues vocalists who left an important legacy. They are Cleanhead Vinson, Jon Hendricks, Joe Williams, Big Miller, Big Mama Thornton, Jimmy Witherspoon and currently on the Bay Area jazz scene: Jamie Davis and Alvon Johnson.

Alvon, besides the great blues vocals, is an outstanding blues guitarist having toured throughout the Orient and Europe, where he’s known as the King of the Blues.

Larry Vuckovich and Alvon with a number of successful performances under their belts, developed close chemistry which besides the blues includes rare standards, in particular beautiful, lyrical romantic ballads throughout which Alvon shows his immense versatility interpreting them in the style of Johnny Hartman and Mr. B, but at the same time showcasing his own personal sensitive sound.
