Critically acclaimed Australian roots act, Hussy Hicks, last Blues on the Water cruise was in 2019 (pre-Covid) and we are very excited to welcome them back! Formed in 2006, the duo have built a formidable reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting live acts, blending blues, folk, country, rock and roots into a sound that is both deeply authentic and electrifying on stage.
Known for their emotive songwriting, tight harmonies and high-energy performances, the band has played more than a thousand shows worldwide, from Australia’s biggest festivals to sold-out tours across Europe. Their return to Bluesfest Byron Bay in early April 2026 will mark their tenth appearance at the iconic festival.
At the heart of the band is the magnetic pairing of Gentz and Parker. Gentz’s raw, gritty vocals command attention, while Parker’s virtuoso guitar playing has earned widespread praise — with Australian legend Phil Emmanuel once describing her as “Australia’s top female guitar player.”
Expect an afternoon of fiery musicianship, soaring vocals and the unmistakable chemistry that has made Hussy Hicks festival favourites around the world.
Supporting the The Hussy Hicks is LilG. LilG recently performed at last month’s Girrakool Blues Festival and made a special appearance at last year’s Lloyd Spiegel Blues on the Water cruise.
