Blues Dancing 101: the series version

November is going to be a bit different. Instead of guided practice, and we're going to have a 4-week series taught by the amazing Lila Faria that takes you through all you need to start your blues dancing journey! This will be more geared towards those who have little to no experience with blues, but it's also a great series for refreshing your blues and getting some targeted topics to work on!

Dates:

Tuesdays Nov 1, 8, 15, 22 (4 weeks)

Schedule:

6:30pm - check-in, warm up

6:40-7:30pm - lesson

7:30-8:30pm - social / office hours

Cost:

- series (incl. socials) - $60

- earlybird (before Oct 18) - $50

- social only - $5 drop-in each week (pay on the day)

Scholarships:

- We will have 1-2 partial scholarships for those who really want to learn blues dancing, but need some financial assistance. Please reach out to us to discuss this! Recipients will be decided by Oct 25.

About the instructor:

Lila first encountered blues dancing in 2015, hidden in the back rooms of New York City bars. After 8 years of training in synchronized skating and ice dancing (2004-2012), she fell in love with the partner dance, pursuing learning opportunities across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. She finally settled down in Seattle (2018), where she launched Lila's Living Room Lessons, took a day job as a Montessori educator, and spent her nights supporting the local blues dance scene. Lila approaches blues dancing as an opportunity to connect body, emotion, and history. Through her teaching, she hopes to create environments where her students feel safe, supported, and empowered to be their true, authentic selves.
