About this Event

Vocalist, saxophonist and songwriter/arranger, Bobby Hurricane Spencer lifts the spirits and moves the body with his deep soulful and funky blues. Bobby started with local bands playing funk and soul in Oakland in the 60's, cutting records with Timex Social Club, Sonny Rhodes, JJ Bad Boy Jones, Jimmy McCracklin, and others. He played shows with Etta James, , the Whispers, Carla Thomas, Lowell Fulson, and ZZ Hill and opened for musicians like Bobby Blue Bland, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Smokey Robinson.

This will be Bobby's first show in over two years, and he is reuniting with some musicians who have been backing him up on the LA club scene:

Bobby “Hurricane” Spencer — Tenor sax and vocals

George Van Wagner — Guitar and vocals

Tyler Coombs — Vibraphone

Mark Tabbert — Bass

Ed Mann — Drums and percussion
