Bluegrass Jamboree - Sonia Shell CD Release and Johnny Campbell Band

Welcome to the Bluegrass Jamboree at Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange! Join us for a toe-tapping good time filled with live bluegrass music, delicious food, and great company. This in-person event will be held at the Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange, so bring your friends and family for a day of fun. Whether you're a seasoned bluegrass fan or just looking to enjoy some live music, this event is perfect for everyone. Get ready to stomp your feet and clap your hands at the Bluegrass Jamoree!

Bring you instrument and a potluck dish for the pre-show jam and potluck. There will be a slow jam and an up-to-speed jam.

Sonia Shell, the South Bays’ local veteran banjo player and teacher has played and recorded with many bay area bluegrass bands including Sidesaddle, Goat Hill Girls, Harmony Grits, All Girl Boys and recently Marin County’s Bluegrass Holiday.

She will play standard bluegrass songs passing the leads around to feature each member of the band and songs from her new solo recording on Inscrutable records. She will be joined by friends who appear on the project including Jim Lewin on Guitar, Sara Eblen on bass, Johnny Campbell on Fiddle and Jesse Appelman on mandolin. The Johnny Campbell Band is a group of Nashville's top bluegrass musicians who have been performing together since 2012. Led by Johnny Campbell, a third-generation fiddler, the band is rooted in traditional bluegrass. Johnny's brother, Jimmy Campbell, played with the legendary Bill Monroe, and Johnny's fiddling style is heavily influenced by both his brother and the renowned fiddler Kenny Baker. Since 1997, Johnny has been performing in Nashville, holding residencies at clubs on Broadway and touring with well-known bluegrass bands. All the band members are regulars on the Nashville music scene, bringing years of experience and expertise to their performances. Johnny's engaging performance style combines music with stories from the road and insights into the history of bluegrass, creating a unique and entertaining experience for audiences.
