Bluegrass at Artfest Green Bay

The Gentlemen Grifters are an acoustic brotherhood of fun who thread multiple genres into foot-stomping, heart-felt, original string music. The band embraces the more adventurous side of bluegrass, weaving in influences from grunge, ragtime and R&B… even sea shanties!
The focus of the Grifter’s lyrics comes from a lot of different places. Some songs are tongue-in-cheek portraits of criminals, gamblers, and drifters. Other songs are personal stories about home. When the band covers other artists they like to mash up styles, like grass versions of Metallica.
Ranging from soulful and smokey, to bass-rich twang, multiple singers bring distinct character to each song. Depending how the planets align, a show might consist of fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo or drums.
