Associated with the anti-caste movement, the color blue signifies the sky, a symbol of non-discrimination under which everyone is treated equally. At the same time, blue comedy is a genre of comedy that is often labelled off-color, risque, indecent or profane. This duality inspired our name - Blue Material!

We are a Mumbai-based, Dalit-led, queer-affirmative comedy collective. And for the first time ever, we re going on the record! Taking place over 90 entertainment-packed minutes, our all-Dalit standup comedy line-up show features multiple hilarious comedians with deeply engaging performances grounded in both the personal and the political.
