The very popular annual Blue Dragon Book Fair will be held over the weekend of 4 (9am to 6pm) and 5 May (9am to 3pm) with all proceeds supporting the Blue Dragon Children's Centre in Hanoi. Trustees and an army of helpers are sorting the books into categories. It's a big job and there are a lot of great books.
Thanks to everyone for their donations.
We are collecting your donations of books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles and board games from Saturday 6 April. The final date for drop-off is Wednesday 1 May.
Please donate good-quality books only: no books in bad condition, old atlases and academic text books, library books, encyclopaedias and magazines. There is also a limited market for self-help books, travel guides and older recipe books, so please be selective with these.
We would also be grateful if books arrive in bags or standard or smaller boxes that can be lifted easily. Banana boxes are our favourites and supermarkets have been very happy to provide us with their empties.
We have the same arrangement as previously with Kennards Storage which is at the bottom of Sar Street (19 Hutt Road). Books can be dropped in the downstairs area there, on the right-hand side, clearly labelled 'Blue Dragon'. Kennard's storage is open M-F 8am-6pm; Sat 9-5; Sunday 10-4pm.
