The season of Christmas doesn't always make us merry. When we're navigating a hard or lonely time in life, the arrival of bows and bells and twinkle lights can seem like forced brightness, make our suffering darker by comparison. Enter the sort of Advent worship that doesn't ring in triumphant but whispers in hope. Blue Christmas is an annual worship service at First Christian Church Tyler, held each December for anyone carrying heaviness at the holidays.
All are welcome, friends are encouraged for company.
We gather in the open hall of the church and move into the Contemporary Worship Space.
