A tradition since 1951, Bloomington Kiwanis hosts Pancake Days, annually serving pancakes and sausage to over 3,000 people. Pancake Days is held at the BCPA (Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts) in the lower level ballroom. Pancakes are prepared by Kiwanis members and community organizations on specially crafted griddles insuring fresh, steaming hot buttermilk pancakes, served with sausage, coffee, orange juice and milk.
The 2026 Pancake Days will be Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, 7:30am to 12:00pm both days.
Proceeds from the Bloomington Kiwanis Day of Pancakes go toward the club’s signature project of sending local deserving children to Camp Limberlost, as well as other programs benefitting local kids such as The Harmony Park Project, Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal, W. D. Boyce Council, BSA, The Salvation Army Bloomington IL, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, local Aktion Clubs, local Key Clubs and local Circle K Clubs.
Each summer, since 1930, Bloomington Kiwanis sends more than sixty 8-10 year olds who have been identified as children who would benefit from a camping experience, to Camp Limberlost at Timber Pointe at Lake Bloomington. Camp Limberlost, and the other programs benefitting local kids, is supported by fundraisers throughout the year including this event, Mother’s Day Flower Sale and individual and business/corporate donations.
