Get ready for the annual Bloomingdale Trail 5k on Saturday, September 27th. It’s a fun, family-friendly event with a timed 5k and ¼-mile and 1/2 -mile dashes for young runners.
2025 is the 10th anniversary of the Bloomingdale Trail! Enjoy beautiful views of the city while dashing above Northwest Side neighborhoods on the celebrated, much-loved, elevated trail.
The event is produced by Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail (FBT), the McCormick YMCA, and the Chicago Park District. It’s a true community-organized run and the proceeds support the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail’s year-round programs.

Schedule of Events:
Saturday, September 27
7:30am-8:45am: check-in and t-shirt and bib pick-up*
7:30am – 9:00am: Kids Activity Station open, live music, snacks and beverages, sponsor activations, and lots more
9:00am: Kids ¼-mile and ½-mile dashes
9:20am: the 5k will immediately follow the kids run
After the Race: Awards and post-race snacks and mingling until around 11AM
*Day of Packet Pick-Up, check-in and the start/finish of the race will all take place at McCormick YMCA, located on the WEST end of the Bloomingdale Trail (1834 N. Lawndale)
** There will be an early packet pickp the day before the run on Friday, September 26th, 4pm-7pm at the McCormick YMCA*
