About this Event
The BLOOM365 Summer Summit is an interactive training event focused on preventing and responding to dating abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault in a generation. The attendees are multi-generational (ages 15 and up) with diverse abilities: students, school and military personnel, athletes, law enforcement, researchers, parents/caregivers, advocates, etc.
Real, sustainable change doesn't happen in a silo or a quiet lecture hall. It happens when youth leaders and trusted adult stakeholders team up as equals.
At the BLOOM365 Summer Summit, we won't just talk about the problem—we will start the creation of an ecosystem to solve it and uproot abuse in a generation.

Day 1 | Primary Prevention: Prevent Abuse Before it Occurs
Focus: Building a foundation of safety that is accessible to the most vulnerable—because a world safe for youth with disabilities is a world safe for everyone.
♿ Day one is dedicated to the philosophy that inclusion is prevention.
When we design primary prevention tools through the lens of disability—we create a higher standard of safety that benefits youth of all abilities.
This track will move beyond "accommodations" and toward a universal design for violence prevention where no one is left behind, and young people are empowered to lead peer to peer prevention.
Day 2 | Secondary Prevention: Interrupting Harmful Behaviors
Focus: Preventing "red flag" behaviors and interrupting the root causes that lead to violence perpetration.
- 🎓 Campus & Community: Intervention strategies for schools, students and community stakeholders to address emerging trends (eg. digital violence, clout chasing, manosphere, etc.).
- 🎖️ The Power of the Uniform: Leveraging unit cohesion and team loyalty to bridge the gap between noticing 'red flags' and taking action to prevent harm.
Day 3 | Tertiary Prevention: The L.E.V.E.L. Response Training
Focus: Moving from crisis to healing. Day 3 equips "natural helpers" with a standardized, trauma-informed framework to support youth survivors.
When a young person discloses harm, the initial response of a "natural helper" can change the entire trajectory of their healing. This track is designed to equip teachers, student leaders, coaches, mentors, advocates and other trusted adults to respond effectively as the first line of support for survivors. You will leave ready to activate the L.E.V.E.L. technique:
- Listen: Learn the art of active, non-judgmental listening that prioritizes the survivor's voice and creates a safe space for disclosure.
- Empathize: Practice techniques to suspend personal biases and respond with a "heart-first" approach that prioritizes the survivor’s emotional safety.
- Validate: Master trauma-informed communication that affirms a survivor’s feelings and experiences, removing the weight of shame or self-blame.
- Encourage: Shift the power back to the young person. We will focus on autonomy-based support, helping survivors reclaim their agency and make their own choices in the aftermath of harm.
- Link to Resources: Build a bridge to professional support. We’ll map out how to connect youth to the right advocates, medical care, and legal resources without "handing them off" or losing the connection.
By applying the L.E.V.E.L. response, natural helpers ensure that every young person navigating the aftermath of harm is met with a helper who is trained, empathetic, and ready to link them to safety and healing support.
