About this Event
Changeling Event Type: Special Event. Age recommendation 16 years +
What to Expect: Come solo or with friends and immerse yourself in a game of Blood on the Clocktower (BOTC). Our events are a great way to connect with members of local communities and are perfect for folks arriving in Toronto looking to make new friends.
What is Blood on the Clocktower? Blood on the Clocktower is an advanced version of the game Werewolf, and crucially the dead still have an important role to play in the game. The game is run by a Storyteller who has carefully crafted an experience and facilitates the game for up to 20 players. It is part deduction and part deception. Set in the little village of Ravenswood Bluff, players in the game assume different roles, each with unique abilities to hunt down the evil or stay hidden as one.
Player Level: Beginner-friendly. We will be playing the classic introduction script, Trouble Brewing. There will also be time at the top of the game to review rules and ask questions.
Never played before, but interested in learning more? Start with the basic rules of Blood on the Clocktower with our head game expert, Jeremy, on YouTube.
General Admission: Thanks to the generosity of Twilight Café, we will have one of their Karaoke Rooms to play BOTC. Tickets for this event include access to the privately booked space and a full playthrough of the game. We will play a second game if there is time.
Tickets are priced and sold per person. Pre-purchased seats will be held for attendees for the first 15 minutes of the event.
Membership & Passes: Changeling Gaming Memberships include event discounts for our paid subscribers. After just two events within a 30-day period, our members save, with the potential of over $80 per month! For this event, each Special Event Membership ticket purchased must have a single individual corresponding Patreon Special Events Membership Subscription. Or, a temporary Membership Pass may be presented with Special Event stamp slots available for each ticket purchased.
Proof of membership will be required at the door.
Attire: For a game like Blood on the Clocktower, which thrives on atmosphere and a mysterious setting, what we encourage for attire, but do not require, are garments with dark, moody colours like black, deep purple, or blood red.
If you want to go full out for your own immersive fun, to help set the tone and vibe of our story, think of an eerie, almost haunted feel; a Victorian or Gothic aesthetic.
Food & Drink: Twilight Cafe’s menu blends cafe classics (coffee, brunch), Asian-inspired comfort meals (rice, noodles, dumplings), hearty snacks, sandwiches, and fun drinks (bubble tea & lattes) — making it a hybrid cafe + casual restaurant rather than just a coffee-only spot. They also offer a delicious menu of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks, including bubble teas to choose from.
There is no minimum spend, but we strongly encourage purchasing something as able to support the venue so we can keep returning for more game nights. The recommended minimum is $20 per person (~ one drink and one food item)from the Twilight Café Menu.
Photography Disclaimer: Please note that photos and videos will be taken at the event for use on social media to show new members what our gatherings are like, and to also share on the Changeling Community Discord, so we can all look back on the fun moments gaming together. If you wish to remain off-camera, please let our team know once on-site so we can direct you to the photo-free tables.
