BlockSounds recorders – Robyn Mellor & Rodney Waterman Woodsong

Blocksounds presents WOODSONG - Robyn Mellor (recorders) is joined by Melbourne virtuoso Rodney Waterman (recorders and lute) in a program of varied styles and sounds demonstrating the artistry, flexibility and beauty of recorder music over 500 years. You will hear Mellor and Waterman play a least 10 different instruments in a concert offering the stillness of contemplative love songs, the elegance of French baroque dance suites, the sparkle and pizzaz of prolific Australian composer Lance Eccles, the rhythmic intensity of Soren Sieg’s African-inspired work and the cool jazz of Pete Rose’s crazy clock pendulum.
