A LitArts RI Writing Workshop
About this Event

Book coverage in mainstream media outlets is dying, with positions being eliminated from publications like the Associated Press and The Washington Post. Who will step in to fill this void? Readers and writers, of course. Book reviews are not only essential to literature coverage, but can also help aspiring writers build out their list of publications. Participants will learn the mechanics of writing concise book reviews, hone self-editing skills and discover how to pitch reviews to various publications. Develop the essential skills needed to write compelling book reviews and the knowledge required to publish them.
Open to prose writers of all levels and genres. This is a 3-hour workshop. Please prepare for approximately 1 hour of work ahead of the session.
This 3-hour workshop meets on Saturday, Nov 21 from 1-4pm at LitArts RI .
