You don't need a finished poem. You don't even need to know how to write poems. Just come.
BLK TEA is back, and this time we're doing Poetry & Tea: The Listening Room.
Think: Curated tea selection, a mic that's more "vibe" than "spotlight," and a room full of people who get that you're still figuring your words out - so are they!
The Lineup (for your night, not your résumé)
Fireside chat with our guest poets - No stiff Q&A. We're getting into how they actually found their voice, what almost stopped them, and what poetry gave them that nothing else could.
A little aromatherapy reset - You're probably still in "just left work/the group chat/my own head" mode, and we want you here.
A writing prompt, guided - No blank-page anxiety allowed. We give you somewhere to start - if you need it!
Open mic - but low-key - Take the mic and read a poem you love, or one you wrote. Read one line that inspires you. Read something you wrote five minutes ago on your phone.
Or, sit there and enjoy the vibes in the room. All of it counts. This isn't a performance - it's a room that's so glad you showed up.
Come Through If You...Have a note in your phone you've never shown anyone. Journal, but haven't reflected on your musings.
