BLK Beetles Run CRW

The BLK Beetles Run CRW will meet on Saturday, October 2nd for our weekly community runs. These runs will be occurring weekly unless otherwise noted. Below is an outline of the runs and what to expect.

1. Distance will vary each week - meetup location The Tipping Point Coffee.

2. Wear a mask to check-in. However, wearing a mask during our run is not required.

3. Each participant will need to sign a waiver prior to participating.

4. Bring your own snack or water as we are unable to share during the current state of affairs.

BLK Beetles Community Vibes

Zero Tolerance: We ALL came here to build fellowship and express our love running. With this said, we have ZERO tolerance policy towards harassment, in any form, discrimination, and hostility.

Safety: NO red light is worth the risk. Respect all traffic rules and never assume a vehicles sees you. Run on the sidewalk and share with pedestrians. If you see a runner cross the street carelessly, please do not follow. Run to street light and wait for the green. As a running crew safety is our #1 priority.

Also, if you see the runners in front of you stop, make sure you let the crowd behind you know. Call out cars, uneven sidewalks, and pedestrians.

Wellness is Done Better Together: We will remain as a pack. This is not a race but an experience around Downtown Houston. Be prepared to stop if huge gaps start forming.

Like any crew, if you see someone you never met, say hello and ask them how they are doing. We ALL have amazing stories! So take the time to meet a new crew member each time. Remember, this is YOUR community too. So let's grow and nurture a DOPE running community together!!

Respect for the Community: No littering while on the run. While we are exploring the more residential neighborhoods, please keep noise level to a minimum. Once we hit the main streets, it’s all good fam!

More importantly, let's make sure to tag the muralist in your social media post to show appreciation and their contribution to the community.

Not that Type of Run: We love our furry friends just as much as you do! Unfortunately, all non-service animals are not permitted.

Waiver of Liability Agreement

“By participating in this BLK Beetles (“Organization”) event, the participant (“Participant”): (a) agrees to voluntarily, freely and expressly assume all of the risks associated with his or her participation in all activities associated with this Organization event; (b) agrees to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings and follow any instructions or directions given by the Organization or its agents with respect to his or her participation in this Organization event; (c) warrants that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude his or her participation in this Organization event; and (d) agrees to waive, release, discharge, indemnify, hold harmless and promise not to sue Organization from, against and for any and all claims, damages, expenses and liability associated with his or her participation in this Organization event.”

Photo and Social Media Release Consent

I hereby grant the releasee permission to use photographs in any of the following:

1. Web-based publications
2. Print Advertisements
3. Social Media

I hereby affirm that such release to the releasee does not constitute any form of compensation, including royalties arising from the photographs, to my benefit.

I understand and agree that photographs in the possession of the releasee shall become the property of the releasee. The use and publication of the photographs however, shall conform to my rights as a subject of said photographs.

I hereby waive my right to inspect of approve the photographs by which my likeness appears.

I hereby hold harmless, release, and forever discharge the from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
