Join us for a joyful celebration of God’s creation and the special bond we share with our companion animals. Parishioners, Dwight and Marica will once again provide a warm, welcoming environment for parishioners and neighbors alike, ensuring a peaceful setting for prayer, fellowship, and individual blessings.
Rooted in the witness of St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast we observe on October 4, this tradition affirms the goodness, beauty, and dignity of all creatures. Following a brief opening prayer and reading, the presider will offer a general blessing and then bless each animal individually. Families are invited to bring dogs, cats,
small pets, and other gentle companions to receive a blessing as cherished members of the household.
This community event is open to all. In keeping with good order and safety, please bring animals leashed, crated, or otherwise secured and plan to arrive a few minutes early for check-in. Water and simple accommodations will be available to keep pets comfortable during the short liturgy.
The Blessing of the Animals is more than a charming custom; it is an act of gratitude that lifts our eyes to the Creator and reminds us of our responsibility to care for creation with reverence and compassion.
We are grateful to Dwight and Marcia for their thoughtful hospitality and to all who will join us in prayer. May this gathering renew our joy, deepen our stewardship, and reveal God’s tender love for all living things.
