Bring your pets to the pavilion at Summerport Dog Park for our first Blessing of the Animals. This brief and casual service will be led by Rev. David Rowe, as a way of recognizing the special roles they play in our lives. ? Pre-Registration is not required, just helpful. This is a free event.
? Open to people and pets of all faiths, and those who do not identify with a faith.
? All animals should be well-behaved, on a leash, or their appropriate carrier.
About the Event:
A Blessing of the Animal service reminds us of God's love, care, and concern for all creation. These types of services have a long history, and are typically held in early October as a reminder of St. Francis of Assisi. He was known for his generosity to the poor and for his love for animals and nature.
