In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron of all living creatures and the environment, we celebrate and honor our beloved pets and animal companions.We invite you to join us at Soul Care for a blessing of pets, companion animals, or workings animals. Cat and dog, pig and bird, lizard and spider, hamster and fish (in water, please!) and all other animals are welcome whether they are large or small, furry, feathered, fuzzy, or scaled. This event is FREE and open to everyone in the community.
Debra Joy Heart from Unity Church & Spiritual Center will be conducting the blessing in the parking area outside of Soul Care. If your pet is no longer with you or unable to attend, bring along a picture, their leash, or even their bowl. We will have a table set up to share their memory and do a special memorial blessing for them as well.
Pura Vida Pets is offering special treats to attendees and will showcase natural, homemade pet treats and toys. Volunteers from Hospice Hearts animal rescue will be on hand to share information on pet adoption and fostering. Visitors will also be able to check out the interior of Soul Care.
Please bring a donation of food or supplies to support Hospice Hearts. They are in need of the following:
Purina Pro dry or canned dog and cat food
Clumping kitty litter
Feliway or Comfort Zone diffusers
New cat and dog toys
New cat and dog beds
New or gently used leashes and collars
New or gently used crates and carriers
New litter boxes and scoops
Dogs must be on leashes, cats in carriers, birds or other animals should be in cages or confined, and people should wear masks and social distance. If your pet is not people and animal-friendly, it may not attend. Make sure to exercise and have your pet eliminate prior to the event, but bring a bag for any emergencies!
