Blessing of Pets and Gardens—Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9:30 a.m.This year we will have a special ceremony that will begin at the raised garden beds by the white shed. We will bless the fruits of the earth. There will be special resources to take home to bless
your own gardens! And you can bring something from your garden to donate to the Catholic Action Center.
Then we will celebrate God’s gift of creation and our care of creation by processing through our church grounds and blessing various trees and plants on our property.
The procession will end in our peace garden where you will have an opportunity, if you wish, to sign a petition asking our members of Congress to work to restore funding for support of electric vehicles and solar power.
Finally, we will move to the front of the church for the blessing of pets. We will have pet treats and little pet toys to help keep them occupied through the ceremony.
The whole service should take under a half hour. Invite your neighbors and friends to join us. Everyone loves St. Francis!
