Come join the Park Rangers at Carters Lake and learn about the basic principles of rocketry as you build and then launch your very own model rocket! You'll receive your very own model rocket kit to build, while learning about the components and the principles behind them. Once you've constructed your rocket, you'll place it on our rocket launch pad and send it soaring into the sky!
This event is perfect for ages from 7 - 99, children under 10 will need parental assistance with the building. Our Park Rangers and volunteers will be on hand to assist with building, as well as launching and recovery of the rockets.
Already have your own model rockets and want to launch them, then please bring them along. We will conduct a pre-flight safety check before they are launched.
While attending this event is free, there is a $5 material fee to cover the cost of the rocket kit and motor. This must be paid in cash upon check-in. If you wish to launch more than once then you can purchase a pack of Estes A10-3T rocket motors and bring them with you.
There will be two ticket options available, each indicates the specific rocket model that you would like to build. Please, only one model per participant.
Due to available supply the build portion is limited to 20 participants, so register fast or this chance may just blast away!
